Departmental Units and Service Areas

The Fiscal Operations Division includes the following departmental units and service areas:

  • The Office of the Associate Vice President & Controller is responsible for financial operations including financial reporting, cost accounting, fixed assets and general accounting.

  • Office of the University Bursar is responsible for student billing, collecting tuition and other university related charges..

  • Disbursements/Accounts Payable is responsible for the auditing and processing of invoices and payments for goods and services to vendors as well as reimbursements to individuals on behalf of Wayne State University (WSU) in compliance with WSU policies and procedures, vendor terms and external regulations and requirements.

  • Accounting & Financial Services is responsible for maintaining the University's financial accounting system and providing the financial information required by various internal and external customers.

  • Payroll Office is responsible for payroll payments to all Wayne State University employees.

  • Property Managment is responsible for maintaining an accurate inventory of all University equipment as well as the receipt and distribution of surplus equipment.

  • TravelWayne automates the travel request, travel booking and expense report processes for Wayne State employees.

  • Tax Management is responsible for managing tax risks and promoting compliance with Federal, State and Local tax authorities.
